Gender care in Poland
Poland has no specific legislation on the recognition of gender identity.
Legal framework
Poland has no specific legislation on the recognition of gender identity. Changing the gender entry in the registers runs through a civil procedure in which the transgender person sues their own parents — a route criticised by international human rights organisations.
Clinical care
Transgender care is limited in availability and largely private. Access and quality vary significantly.
Political climate
The political climate has been variable since 2015; LGBTI topics are under pressure.
