The Quality Standard for Somatic Transgender Care (published in 2018, revised in 2024) describes care for transgender people in the Netherlands.

The Quality Standard for Somatic Transgender Care (published in 2018, revised in 2024) describes care for transgender people in the Netherlands. Among others, the Dutch Society for Endocrinology, KNMG, the Federation of Medical Specialists, Transvisie and other umbrella organisations contributed to its development.
Content
The standard describes the diagnostic process, hormone treatment in adults and young people, surgical options and organisational aspects. For young people it refers to the Dutch Protocol.
Future
Following the Cass Review and international reorientations, new evaluations are expected in the Netherlands. Amsterdam UMC and UMCG are working on their own long-term outcomes research.
