ProVrouw

Pro Woman is a Dutch website about women’s rights, with the subtitle Women’s Rights in 2025. The site features blogs and calls to action and asks visitors for donations. Its premise is that rights and services for women should continue to be based on sex. A Dutch site with the same premise is coalitievrouwenrechten.nl, organized around themes such as women’s spaces, women’s sports and legislation.

What you can find

The posts cover women’s sports, women’s prisons, medical transition and media coverage. They include reports on demonstrations under the name Let Women Speak, a petition about placing prisoners in women’s prisons and articles about complaints filed with the Dutch Press Council, including a complaint against de Volkskrant that was declared unfounded.

Why it is included on this list

The tone is openly activist, and the site strongly opposes what it calls trans ideology. It is therefore a source for opinions and campaigns, not neutral information. See also Developments in the Netherlands.

Who is behind it

The site does not explicitly state who produces or manages it. Almost all posts are signed only with the first name Caroline. The posts regularly mention Stichting Voorzij, a Dutch feminist organization that has its own entry on this list. Pro Woman writes, for example, that Voorzij was heard in Brussels about debanking, the termination of bank accounts. There is also an article accusing de Volkskrant of defaming the foundation. The site does not provide an overview of income from donations.

Campaigns and recent topics

The petition about prisons is titled No Men in Women’s Prisons. According to a post from March 2026, Stichting Voorzij presented it to Member of Parliament Ulysse Ellian. Reports on Let Women Speak include accounts of gatherings in Utrecht in November 2023 and May 2024. In spring 2026, posts appeared about a ruling by the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights, the admission of trans women to women’s darts and amateur sports, and the way journalists, according to the author, report on women in the gender debate. Background on the sports debate can be found on the page about gender and sports.

How to assess this source

Pro Woman is a weblog written by one identifiable voice, not a news organization. The headlines are fierce and the language polemical, using terms that opponents may find offensive. Factual claims about court cases, rulings and policies are therefore best checked with the relevant authority. The site is useful, however, for understanding which campaigns Dutch gender-critical feminists pursue and which arguments they use. For more on the question that recurs throughout many of the posts, see trans people and women’s safety.
