What Genderhub.nl is

Genderhub is the guide to the Dutch-language gender network. Twelve main themes, 33 topic pages, and on every page references to the specialised sites that address the theme in detail. Those who enter the network without knowing which site is relevant start here.

Twelve themes

  • Medical care — diagnosis, hormones, surgery, detransition, complications
  • Paediatric care — puberty blockers, youth clinics, Dutch Protocol, Cass Review
  • Science and research — peer-reviewed literature, methodological criticism, replications
  • Legal rights — Transgender Act, sex registration, anti-discrimination
  • Education — teaching material, social transition, parental rights, school policy
  • Sport — competition structure, biological differences, federation guidelines
  • Workplace — D&I, pronouns, employer policies
  • Media and language — editorial guidelines, word shifts, framing analysis
  • Politics — legislation, policy proposals, parliamentary debates
  • Detransition — personal stories, legal cases, uncertainty about figures
  • International — Scandinavian reorientation, British Cass, French HAS, American states
  • Definitional issues — sex versus gender, biological reality, terminological shifts

How the hub works

Every page on Genderhub introduces a theme in 300-500 words and then links to the specialised sites in the network: Genderinfo for broad explanation, Genderrisico for figures, Gendergekte for current affairs, Genderellende for stories, Transgenderidentiteit for scientific deep work. The hub therefore does not choose — it refers.

Target audience

New visitors. Journalists who are searching. Parents who have just started with questions. Researchers who want to map the field. Genderhub is an entrance, not a final destination.

Editorial line

Concise and link-rich. No polemic, no activism. The hub takes no position beyond noting that the debate exists and has relevant sides that are elaborated somewhere in the network. Those who want polemic find it on Gendergekte; those who want factual explanation find it on Genderinfo.

Mutual coordination

The projects in the network share editorial standards: peer-reviewed sources where possible, transparent dates, explicit references between sites. Genderhub safeguards the coherence — those who pick up a theme on the hub receive consistent depth on sister sites.

What the network is not

Not an organisation with physical members. Not a party. Not a complaints desk. A coordination of reference works for those who want to understand the field beyond press soundbites and activist marketing.

What is Genderhub.nl?

Genderhub is intended as an entrance to the entire network. Those who do not know which site a question belongs to find the structure here: 12 main themes and 33 topic pages, with references per topic to the specialised sites in the network. A road map for visitors orienting themselves for the first time.

What is on it?

The site organises the material in eight main categories:

  • Terms and basics — definitions and ground concepts;
  • Identities — the whole gender spectrum, with links to specific sites per identity;
  • Youth and children — development, school, parenting;
  • Medical aspects — hormone treatment, surgery, complications;
  • Policy and legislation — Dutch and international law;
  • Education, workplace, sport — practical context;
  • Language and media — pronouns, media analysis;
  • Doubt and conversations — for concerned parents and professionals.

Each topic has a short introduction and a row of references to the site or page that addresses the subject.

For whom?

For those who want to oversee the entire network: new visitors, journalists who want to quickly see what is available, or professionals looking for a specific topic. Genderhub itself contains no articles — it is an index.

Tone and approach

Navigation-oriented. The network's line comes through in which sites are included in the index — sister projects such as Genderellende, Gendergekte and Gendersekte reveal that the network is not activist but critically oriented.

Place within the network

The index or sitemap of the network, with 31 sites (including domains in development). For substantive depth you can always click through; for overview and coherence this is the place.
